Low-key big living

Week two of my new job. The introductions have taken place and now it’s time to start to looking as though I know what I’m doing. I do know what I’m doing – in theory – but now I need to actually do it.

It’s a little intimidating. I actually noticed last week that I’d used the word “intimidating” a lot, so I guess that’s how I’m feeling.  But I’m really loving it and still feeling extremely motivated and excited to really see how well I pull together my experiences (those I’ve done myself and those I’ve observed) to be able to do this job and do it well.

Goal Check!

Brain Goal: I will read 5 books by Christmas.
Action: I will start reading my Scottish folktales book.

Body Goal: I will exercise for 30 minutes every day, outside when the weather permits.
Action: Well, after much drama last week in commuting to my new office, I think exercise may finally become built in my daily processes instead of me having to book it in. I may also score a new toy I’ve been dreaming of for years – and adult scooter!

Soul Goal: I will create a post for each of the new places I’ve visited this year.
Action: It’s one of the primary purposes of having a blog and I know I need to fit writing into my daily routine as well. Lately, I’ve been losing motivation quickly when it comes to my writing  but I’m pretty sure that’s just because I’m being overly critical of my work. I was a good writer, now I’m rusty. I know all I need to do is keep writing and the natural flow will come back to me. The plan is to write before work. I arrive to the office very early, so I can write away for a good 20-30 minutes. Well, that’s the plan  🙂
